I cannot wait to see the progress, as well as the final painting, of course. I'm sure it is hard to paint the feelings you want to portray. Lord knows I couldn't do it! That feeling of vulnerability is already there, though. Keep at it. You are doing important work that needs to be done and then viewed. Good luck!
Thank you, Nancy, for all your support. It's going to ultimately be fine, I think. There's such a complexity of emotions I want to convey. You are also an artist who paints beautifully with your words! I appreciate your supporting my endeavor. Goodness knows, I need more patience!
Beth- I'm so proud of you! This painting is looking great so far. It is hard to paint certain angles correctly. I have not attempted anything like this but I can see what you mean about trying to get the spine at the right angle and trying to convey that the arms are covered by fabric. You'll get there. Keep going!
Thank you, Pam. I think you are more confident in me than I am in myself! I will be patient, though, and forge on. Yes, getting the right angle is so important but it feels elusive at times. I'm determined, though, to make this painting work.
Hi Beth, bravo and best wishes on this new chapter in your artistry. You really are at the heart and soul of your creativity as you embark on this journey of self exploration through the lens of illness, acceptance, and healing. I am so compelled by this notion of vulnerability and nakedness. I am so curious to see how you evolve this idea through your exquisite series of nudes. Thank you for bravely taking this leap forward with your work and for generously sharing it here with us.
Thank you, Gerry, for all your support and kind words. I appreciate them so much. Interestingly, when I was sketching the figures years ago, I felt these sketches would be seen only by me. I believed that the only reason I was creating these sketches was to help me deal with my body image issues. I had no idea then that they would be part of a collection open for all to see. I feel like I'm in a really good spot here.
I am really looking forward to seeing the finished work. I am sure you will sort the issues out!
Thank you so much, Susan! I am looking forward to seeing the artwork when it's finished. I love the process of creating art.

Your art is filled with feeling, worth pondering, stopping and really looking. I love your posts and your artistic talent enviably gorgeous.
Thank you Stephanie for your kind comment. I appreciate you. 🙂
Keep on going, Beth, this is going to be a great painting. You’ve already captured the emotion in it, even at this stage.
Thank you Alene. I so appreciate your encouragement!
